Starting at the Basics with Design Principles!

Hi, I'm Kelsi Manley! I am a senior in Fashion & Textiles at North Carolina State University. I have a passion for learning new ways I can expand my creativity.

Design Principles provide a foundational library essential for any designer. I love that many principles point to natural occurrences in nature, the best form of inspiration!

This portfolio demonstrates my understanding of different Principles given specific perimeters.

KAMPHOEFNER MURAL

Our final assignment was to design an art mural for the Kamphoefner building at the NC State College of Design. With our target audience being the students and faculty of NC State, I chose to emulate the famous artist Rene Magritte with a clear reflection of his 1964 piece, The Son of Man. I chose this inspiration because I wanted the art to be easily recognizable.

Murals can serve many purposes; my goal was to create something light-hearted to bring a smile to the faces of the people who see it.
